FOUNDER, MANAGING PARTNER

Scott adds value to Phalanx and the financial services industry through the efficient and timely process of preparing annual financial statements for the alternative investment industry.  His main clients include hedge funds, fund of funds and private equity funds.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, New Jersey. Scott began his career in public accounting at Rothstein, Kass & Company, where he performed audit and tax services for hedge fund and fund of funds clients. Scott went on to found Financial Reporting Technologies, LLC, the predecessor to Phalanx, where he prepared hedge fund, fund of funds and private equity fund financial statements from 2012 through 2019.

Scott maintains his Certified Public Accountant license in New Jersey, and he is a member of the New Jersey Society of CPA's.

MANAGING DIRECTOR, ACCOUNTING SERVICES

Kristen Lalanas joined Phalanx in 2023 as Managing Director of Accounting Services.  Kristen spent the majority of her career at U.S. Bank Global Fund Services where she served as Managing Director/US Head of Investor Services in their Alternative Investment Solutions division.  Kristen joined U.S. Bank through the acquisition of AIS Fund Administration in 2012 and has more than 20 years of industry experience. Prior to this role, she worked in the audit practice of Rothstein Kass primarily auditing hedge funds and began her career in the audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers.  

Kristen received her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Rutgers University and her Master of Science in financial accounting from Rutgers University, The School of Business. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.  Kristen currently resides with her husband and two children in Middletown, New Jersey.

DIRECTOR,  FINANCIAL REPORTING

Utilizing his experience in both fund administration and financial reporting, Chris brings a diversity of knowledge to Phalanx’s financial statement preparation practice.  In 2006, Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from the University of Maine. From 2007 to 2018, Chris operated as a Fund Accountant and Group Manager of Fund Accounting, where he helped administer both mutual fund and hedge funds. In 2019, he became a Financial and Regulatory Account Manager, where he managed and reviewed financial statements for hedge funds, fund of funds and private equity funds before joining Phalanx in January of 2021. 

He currently resides in Maine with his wife, Jess, and their three kids. 

MANAGER,  FINANCIAL REPORTING 

Carlo has spent his entire career in, and experienced various aspects of, the alternative investments space.  He prepared periodic NAVs and partner allocations at a fund administrator, audited financial statements at a mid-size audit firm, and prepared a multitude of in-house reporting requirements at a hedge fund of funds and private equity fund.

Carlo joined Phalanx in 2020 as a Manager of Financial Reporting and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers Business School in Newark, New Jersey.  

SENIOR, FINANCIAL REPORTING

Emmanuel is a seasoned accounting and financial professional with a wealth of hands-on experience working in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Phalanx, he prepared financial statements and assisted in the maintenance of related internal controls for various fund administrators. Emmanuel joined Phalanx in 2021. 

He holds a Master of Science degree in Finance with an emphasis in Financial Services from St. Joseph’s University, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Drexel University.

SENIOR, FINANCIAL REPORTING

Joining Phalanx in 2023, Dany adds value to the financial reporting team through his experience in the alternative investment finance and accounting industry. Dany began his career working in accounts reconciliation and fund accounting operations. Prior to joining Phalanx, Dany served as a financial reporting specialist of alternative investment funds at Brown Brothers Harriman and JP Morgan Chase.

Dany received his Bachelor of Science in International Business with an emphasis in Accounting from the Lebanese American University in 2017. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
